The International Institute of Marine Surveyors is an independent, non-political organisation.
The membership of which is open to Qualified Mariners, Cargo Surveyors and other Marine Consultants from any country in the world, plus individuals who with their specialist knowledge, experience or skills the Institute considers will contribute to and enhance the aims and objectives of the Institute.
The Institute aims to advance the reputation of International Marine Surveying and its associated aspects by means of regular publications and public meetings.

From recreational boats to commercial ships, NAMS members survey new and used vessels to determine their condition and value. NAMS members also survey cargo, machinery, docks, wharfs, marinas, and handling equipment related to the marine industry. NAMS members routinely investigate marine claims and act as expert trial witnesses.
